It doesn’t happen often here so it’s a big deal. Here are a few crudely edited scenes to document the occasion.
November 16
*yawn*
We were awakened at 1 AM this morning by headlights in the driveway. This rarely happens and is never a good thing. While I was fumbling to get dressed and go investigate one of the two or three cars in the drive backed up to turn around. I could then see that it was a city police car so, yay. I turned on the outside light and went outside just as it started to rain a bit. The cop turned his spotlight on me as I approached. I knew I was innocent of whatever so I was ok with it all.
It turned out that they had received a 911 hang-up from our address. In retrospect I wish I had asked what address that was because people frequently get that wrong. What disturbed me was that the cop said he had knocked on the door several times. I never heard it. Yikes. And why wasn’t he suspicious enough to think I might be a clever criminal. Don’t answer that.
At 4 AM I was awakened again by something chewing on the house. I don’t know what it was but I got up. I’ll have a nap later.

ometimes I really miss having cold cereal after a good workout. I had to give it up entirely because I was unable to stop at just one bowl. I was more likely to down a third of a box. I never could get the milk/cereal ratio right so I kept adding one or the other.
I liked the bad cereals, too. Sugar Pops were a favorite, even though they tore up the roof of my mouth. I like Frosted Flakes and Sugar Smacks. I ate a lot of Trix but stopped that probably about the time I got married because, as you know, Trix are for kids.
When I started getting concerned about how much cereal I was eating I switched to a healthier lot like Whole Wheat Cheerios, Grape Nuts, Raisin Bran and Uncle Sam’s. I even tried Shredded Wheat for a while but that was just wrong for a cereal. I finally just gave up and quit entirely. I’m sure I am better off but I have fond memories of reading comic books while consuming two or three bowls of cold cereal.
Course Completed
I just finished the 13 hour Adobe CS4 Mastery series at Lynda.com with a 1200 calorie session on the elliptical trainer. My weight is 181.

ast night I dreamed I was at the beach and there were three elephants in the shallow surf.
Katie’s Wedding
May Was Killer
There were just too many receptions, parties and celebrations in April and May for me to have any success at all in getting more weight off. Also, having two ingrown toenails worked on put me out of commission on the elliptical for quite a few days.
Lynda and I celebrated our 35th yesterday with all sorts of yummy badness like champagne, sushi, beer and ice cream. I ate some Mary Janes on the way home from Fresh Market. I bought a couple of chocolate filled croissants which we haven’t even touched yet. We’ve got a wedding to attend this weekend and I plan to keep on with our afternoon wine time until then but after this coming Sunday’s champagne I’m serious!
In other new, I spent almost two hours on the elliptical this morning, finishing up two tutorials I had left incomplete, Dreamweaver CS3 Beyond the Basics and Site Point’s Crash Course in CSS
Photoshop CS4 Advanced
I just finished a 20 hour series of advanced Photoshop tutorials
at Lynda.com . If you are serious about wanting to learn a software application I highly recommend checking out what is available. There was so much information in this series I’m sure I’ll watch a great deal of it again but there are more Photoshop tutorials available which I have yet to see. Onward!
